PITY OR PENURY-WHAT AFFECTS MORE
At the tender age of 7, you are too
young to understand the importance of having a complete family. Nevertheless,
you are old enough to decipher the role each member plays in your life.
He
was an infant, just 6 months old when he was left abandoned along with his
mother. Illiteracy, penury and village life can only cause more stress than
helping you spring out of it. Destiny had deprived Himanshu of his father’s
love. Intoxicated most often, Himanshu’s father never contributed to the
household expenses. He rarely came home sober, and constantly abused his wife.
The birth of his child never brought about any change in his attitude.
Frustrated by her husband’s drinking habits, incompetence and constant abuse,
Himanshu’s mother fled to her native hoping that at least now she would be able
give her child a decent life. Days passed by and so did years; but there was no
sign of Himanshu’s father paying any visits to his family. “Not a call in 7 years”-
exclaimed Himanshu’s mother. Himanshu was unaware of a father’s love; his
father’s love. Before they could settle down and bounce back to life, the
Almighty exposed Himanshu and his mother to greater struggles. This young child
was diagnosed with Blood Cancer.
“After
rushing to various hospitals, Himanshu started responding to treatments only
at Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. The
care, the affection and love that he has received from the nursing staff and
from the other patients has helped my son recover with a smile!”- says his
mother, with great relief. The hospital has helped this child in many ways than
one.
Today
his Cancer has reached the third stage. Cancer might have made his body weak;
but it has definitely made his mind stronger. A handsome, shy young boy, our
little Himanshu, 7, is aspiring for bigger things in life.
We
wish you a speedy recovery, little hero!
Lots
of love and magic,
Akshita Kothari
